Betsy Z. Cohen is an entrepreneur and investor with more than five decades of leadership in banking and financial services. She began her career as one of the first female law professors on the East Coast and later co-founded a Philadelphia law firm. Betsy went on to found Jefferson Bank, serving as Chairman and CEO for twenty-five years. She then created The Bancorp, one of the country’s first virtual banks and a foundational partner to early fintech companies, and led it as CEO for fifteen years. Her work has been recognized by Forbes, the National Foundation for Women Business Owners, and US Banker. Betsy serves as Vice Chair of the Asia Society, is a Founding Member of the Asia Society Policy Institute, and sits on the boards of the Brookings Institution, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Metropolitan Opera. She is a graduate of Bryn Mawr College and holds a law degree from the University of Pennsylvania.
