Eduard Shyfrin is a Ukrainian-born businessman, philanthropist and Jewish community leader. He serves as a Vice-President of the World Jewish Congress from Ukraine and President of VAAD Ukraine, and has played a key role in strengthening Jewish life in Ukraine and across the former Soviet Union through support for Jewish education, community institutions, heritage preservation and social welfare programs.
Born in Dnipro, Ukraine, Shyfrin holds a PhD in metallurgy. He is the author of the book “From Infinity to Man: The Fundamental Ideas of Kabbalah Within the Framework of Information Theory and Quantum Physics” and the children’s book “Travels with Sushi in the Land of the Mind”, and has developed the “Kabbalah of Information” concept exploring the relationship between science, philosophy and Jewish thought. Shyfrin is also the founder, songwriter and performer of the musical group Shyfrin Alliance. He divides his time between business, philanthropy, creative and intellectual work, with a strong commitment to the continuity and vitality of Jewish life in Ukraine, Israel and worldwide.
